“If you don’t have goals, how do you reach them?”– Lindsay Adler “Envision your customer not as a group, but as a person. Who are they? What books do they read? Where do they shop? Who do they follow on Instagram? Who are their influencers? How do they make purchasing decisions? What emotions affect them when they would choose a photographer? Where do they live and how much do they make? When you fill this out it helps you figure out how to reach those people.” – Lindsay Adler “It takes time to figure out, but it makes all the difference from good to great”– Lindsay Adler |

Her work is also a reflection of herself and does photography the way she wants to instead of doing it ways the public standards are. Many of her photography shoots use bright colours and tones that are contrasting to each other, lots of her work uses lights to gain the colours and shades she wants to achieve. |

Maurizio Anzeri is an Italian contemporary artist living and working in London. He works in a variety of media including sculpture, photography, drawing and traditional craft techniques. He was born in 1969 (age 54 years) in the town of Loano, Italy. Why this video ? I chose this video because it is a basic slideshow of his embroidery on photographs which are quite unique. The screenshot from the video is an example of some of my favourite from the video. |
'I work with sewing, embroidery and drawing to explore the essence of signs in their physical manifestation. I take inspiration from my own personal experience and observation of how, in other cultures, bodies themselves are treated as living graphic symbols.' - Maurizio Anzeri

In the video it also has a section introducing who she is and some interesting facts about Kokin. |
'I like money in its shredded state because it is stripped of value and power. Worthless, it becomes just so much green and white confetti. It is literally not worth the paper it's printed on.' - Lisa Kokin
This shoot is inspired by the work of Maurizio Anzeri and Lisa Kokin , more specifically their work with sewing onto photographs.
I will complete this shoot in lesson time over the space of two hours. This shoot will be done inside the classroom with the background of a white sheet so that the focus is completely on the model. To change different lighting I can either use the natural lighting from the windows, or the lighting from the normal classroom lighting, or if I want it to be darker I can close the blinds and if I want even brighter lights I can use the LED lights provided at school. For this shoot, I will use a DSLR camera and the standard kit lens. I will use manual setting to gain better control over the shutter speed, aperture and ISO. I will use a Low ISO setting, mid-large aperture (depending on the amount of light available) and slow shutter speed. To be specific I will use an aperture between f/4 and f/8, an ISO of 400 and a shutter speed of 1/160. To hold my camera still I will just try to keep my hands steady or use a tripod. |

Alma Haser combines photography with collage and origami techniques to create work that seeks to expand on traditional portraiture and reflect on the concerns of millennial and future generations. She was born in 1989 in Germany. Why this video ? I chose this video because I like how it is a personal interview from Alma Haser herself and it gives us information straight from her not just from other peoples research. I also like how it shows examples of her skilled work. |
"Although my work is dark and serious, there is a childish, playful naivety and innocence about it," - Alma Haser

Adam Pizurny (1986, Slovakia) is an artist who mainly works with media art. His works are given improper functions: significations are inversed and form and content merge. Shapes are dissociated from their original meaning, by which the system in which they normally function is exposed. Adam Pizurny currently lives and works in Prague. Why this video ? I chose this video as it displays some of Pizurny's work on a big screen open to see for the public. I like this as it shows that his work is inclusive for everyone to see not just a small target audience. |

John Rivers Coplans was a British artist, art writer, curator, and museum director. A veteran of World War II and a photographer, he emigrated to the United States in 1960 and had many exhibitions in Europe and North America. Born on the 24 June 1920 and then died in 21 August 2003. Why this video ? I chose this video as throughout the 46 seconds it displays some of Coplans work and then also shows a tour of his work in a gallery, I also like how minimalistic the work is. |
The principal thing is the question of how our culture views age: that old is ugly. Take a photographer like Mapplethorpe. Every single photograph of his is about classical notions of beauty, of young beautiful black men, young beautiful women, and he selects subjects who are essentially interesting and good-looking and extremely physical. I can't stand them.

Bill Viola is an American contemporary video artist whose artistic expression depends upon electronic, sound, and image technology in new media. His works focus on the ideas behind fundamental human experiences such as birth, death and aspects of consciousness. He was born on 25 January 1951 (age 72 years). Why this video ? I chose this video as I like how on one side the fire is rising and on the other side the water is falling down on the person almost creating an affect that they will cancel each other out. |
The fundamental aspect of video is not the image, even though you can stand in amazement at what can be done electronically, how images can be manipulated and the really extraordinary creative possibilities. For me the essential basis of video is the movement - something that exists at the moment and changes in the next moment - Bill Viola
